The magician borrows a ring from the audience, covers it with a handkerchief, and allows the audience member to hold the ring from outside the handkerchief. The magician then grabs one corner of the handkerchief, gives it a sharp pull, and the handkerchief slips off the audience member's hand, but the ring is nowhere to be seen!
